                   Vocal Tuition
Learning to sing takes time and depends on reflection and regular practice.
I teach the Bel Canto singing technique in conjunction with speech level singing. 
I deal with:

  • Vocal exercises
  • Breathing technique
  • Musicals
  • Range and power
  • Posture and Assertiveness techniques
  • Vocal problems - passaggio (break in voice), lack of focus, commencing singing after nodules, vocal attack, intonation (singing in tune) and excessive or lack of vibrato
  • Rock, Pop and R&B - Work with backing tracks if required
  • Folk song
  • Classical repertoire - opera, oratorio and art song
  • Beginners Welcome!
I am also a qualified teacher of performance and can help with audition technique
and practice (singing and acting) for major music and drama institutions

I have previously taught at Middlesex University and the Charles Cryer Studio Theatre,
Carshalton, and I am also an Associate Lecturer for the Open University and a distance tutor
for the Open College of the Arts.  I am also a recommended teacher for the
London Philharmonic Choir.

               Pamela Benson PPRNCM/CERT ED - Biography

A lyrical spinto soprano, Miss Benson studied voice and performance at the RNCM in Manchester,
and won a Ralph Vaughan Williams Scholarship to the National Opera Studio, London, England.

Also studied in Milan on a Peter Moores Foundation Scholarship.
  Has performed at the
Bayreuth Festspiele, Scottish Opera, Frankfurt Opera and other venues.
  Has worked with various orchestras
including the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
  Has performed on a regular basis singing in various concerts
and radio broadcasts in the UK and abroad, including the 'Amici di Verdi' at Covent Garden,
Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera) for Neath Opera, Craig-y-nos.
She is a member of Equity.
